This degree prepares students for specific career/technical skills. The requirements for each major in the Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S) are clearly shown in curriculum degree plans in Dallas College catalog and are located under Career and Technical Education Programs. Students seeking such a degree should become familiar with the specific required courses in the appropriate curriculum degree plans and request advisement regarding these courses as needed.

Students must have a minimum of 60 credit hours with a grade of “C” or better in each of the two general education courses

Each Associate of Applied Science Degree requires students to take 15 credit hours from the general education categories. Nine hours will be drawn from Humanities or Fine Arts, three hours will be drawn from Social or Behavioral Science and three hours will be drawn from Mathematics or Natural Science (the specific curriculum degree plan will cite what students must take to meet these requirements). Additionally, each student must earn a grade point average of at least 2.00 (“C”), based on GPA #2 and meet all TSI  standards in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. For some programs, more than 60 credit hours may be required. All prescribed requirements for the specific program degree in which the student is enrolled must be completed.
