In addition to our regular tuition charges, these are additional fees that may be added to specific courses.
Third Attempt Fee
$50.00 per credit hour
An undergraduate student attempting the same course more than twice may be charged an additional $50.00 per credit hour for each attempt. This is due to state legislation eliminating funding to higher education for courses that are attempted three or more times. Please see Third Attempt to Enroll in a Course for additional information.
Excessive Hours Fee
$50.00 per credit hour
Texas Education Code 54.014 establishes a maximum number of credit hours an undergraduate student may attempt. A student who exceeds the maximum number of credit hours may be charged a higher rate.
- Associate’s Degree - 75 hour maximum (60 hours required for completion + 15 additional hours)
- Bachelor’s Degree - 150 hours maximum (120 hours required for completion + 30 additional hours)
