TEXAS Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG)
|
|
TEOG is a need-based financial assistance grant for enrolled students in a public two-year institution in Texas. To determine eligibility for TEOG initial, a student must meet the general requirements:

Be enrolled in at least six credit hours as an entering undergraduate student in the first 30 credit hours (or its equivalent) of an associate degree or certificate program (excluding credits for dual enrollment or by examination)

Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident

Have a nine month EFC of no more than an amount that equals 60% of the average statewide amount of tuition for general academic teaching institutions for the award year set forth in April of the corresponding year

Have applied for available financial assistance

Have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance in the state of Texas
-
Not have completed an associate’s or baccalaureate degree
-
Be registered with Selective Service, or be exempt; and
A recipient of the TEOG renewal award must have previously received TEOG initial and:

Be enrolled at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student working on an associate degree or certificate

Not have completed an associate’s or baccalaureate degree

Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident
-
Have a calculated financial need
-
Have applied for available financial assistance
-
Have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance in the state of Texas
-
Be registered with Selective Service or be exempt; and
-
Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
