- Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
- Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.

Each specialization whether ART, ANIMATION, DESIGN, or PROGRAMMING provides a foundation which will prepare students with the knowledge needed to understand how each specific role functions in a development team within the Gaming Industry. Upon completion of the chosen specialization, students will have the knowledge to build a portfolio of work which is what’s required to enter the Games Industry. In addition to this certificate, students can use all the classes towards the completion of the Interactive Simulation and Game Technology A.A.S. .
A student must complete all courses in ONE specialization (ART, ANIMATION, DESIGN, or PROGRAMMING) to be awarded the Game Development Certificate.
