For students seeking a deeper and more technical education, the Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare them for a professional career in interior design. The program emphasizes computer-aided drafting, space planning, design history, and methodologies for both residential and commercial projects. Students will develop expertise in two- and three-dimensional design, digital architectural drawing, and key subjects such as global design, human factors, environmental psychology, and the business of interior design. Competition of both the Interior Design Foundational Certificate and Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design programs ensures graduates meet the stringent educational requirements needed to excel in the competitive interior design industry.
Upon completing the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) - IDFX exam.
All students must achieve a minimum grade of “C” in all courses. While we recommend starting in the fall term, students should plan for additional semesters if courses are taken outside the sequential program pathway.
Students who have previously completed a bachelor level program, must complete the Interior Design Foundational Certificate before applying to the Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design program.
