Interior Design Foundational Certificate

  • Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
  • Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.

This one-year Interior Design Foundations Certificate is ideal for individuals seeking personal knowledge of interior design, retail and sales professionals, or aspiring designers starting their educational journey. Students will learn to apply core design principles to interior projects, developing a strong foundational skill set. This program provides essential insights and skills for understanding the basics of interior design and preparing for further studies or professional work in the field.

All students must achieve a grade of “C” or better in all required courses.

While we recommend student admissions to begin this program in the fall term, students should plan for additional semesters to complete all coursework should courses be taken outside of the sequential programmatic pathway.

Prerequisite: The Interior Design Foundational Certificate would be a requirement for admission into the Interior Design A.A.S.  Program.
