The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program prepares students for careers in medical imaging using ultrasound technology to produce diagnostic images. Students receive a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on lab training, and supervised clinical experience. The curriculum focuses on areas such as abdominal, obstetric and gynecologic, vascular, and small parts sonography, with an emphasis on patient care, anatomy, pathology, and image acquisition. Graduates are eligible to sit for national credentialing examinations and pursue employment in a variety of healthcare settings.

Admission to the program is competitive. Applicants must complete all prerequisite coursework and follow the program’s application procedures. Selection is based on a points-based ranking system.
Graduates may find employment in hospitals, outpatient clinics, imaging centers, physician offices, and specialized diagnostic facilities.
