Dallas College Basic Firefighter Certificate is part of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) certification process. Prior to being appointed to fire suppression duties, personnel must complete a Commission-approved basic structure fire suppression program and successfully complete a Commission recognized emergency medical course. Students may receive academic credit for successful completion of TCFP-approved basic firefighter certification courses. Successful completion of this Level I Certificate allows students to take the TCFP structured exam and receive the TCFP Basic Fire Suppression certification.
Completion of a comprehensive end-of-course exam, with a minimum passing score of 70% is required for TCFP certification.
