EMSP 1305 - Emergency Care Attendant (3 Credit Hours)

Campus Location: BHC, CVC, RLC

The course covers the knowledge and skills for basic emergency medical care. Emphasis is on requirements of nation and state accrediting agencies. Preparation for certification as an Emergency Care Attendant (ECA)/Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).

Prerequisites: Required: (1) Admission into the Emergency Medical Services Program, (2) Current BLS (CPR) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Corequisites/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search and a drug screen as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from all EMSP courses.
