The Medical Laboratory Technology program prepares the student to perform tests and related duties in a medical laboratory. The program is a balanced curriculum of science, liberal arts, and technical courses including didactic and clinical education. Admission requirements include an information session, satisfactory scores on pre-entrance assessment testing, rank ordering by grade point average earned on the two pre-requisite courses, and completion of all requirements for admission as a full-time student to the college. Contact the Assessment Center at El Centro campus to sign up for the assessment tests and, Health Occupations Admissions, to receive an information packet.
Upon completion of the program, the student is awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is qualified to take the Board of Registry for the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
