The Equine Clinical Skills Enhanced Skills Award may be earned by students in conjunction with the AAS in Veterinary Technology. The veterinary technician working with horses in mixed animal or equine practice assists the veterinarian with clinical procedures and provides patient care as directed by the veterinarian.
The Equine Clinical Skills curriculum is designed to provide the graduate with knowledge and skills focused on clinical cases in equine medicine that go beyond the scope of the AAS Veterinary Technology curriculum. This award prepares the graduate both for work in clinical practice and to pursue advanced degrees or specialization in the field.
Enrollment is limited to students who have completed a minimum of 30 hrs of coursework in the AAS Veterinary Technology degree.

A grade of “C” or better is required for all courses.
