Fashion Design Certificate

The Fashion Design Level 1 Certificate is a window into the exciting world of fashion. Students will learn basic skills in pattern-drafting, garment construction, fashion sketching, and the art of fashion draping. These essential skills will help students bring their designs to life from concept to reality. Students will also learn to communicate design concepts using digital software in fashion computer graphics. 

After completion of this award, students will be prepared to begin employment at an entry-level position or enhance their skills in the fashion industry as a design assistant, patternmaker, sample-maker, or start their own career as a fashion designer. Students receiving this certificate can begin working in the fashion industry while continuing their education and completing their AAS degrees in Apparel Design  or Technical Pattern Design .

NOTE: Students must complete all FSHN and FSHD courses with a “C” or better to be awarded this award.
