The Geographic Information Systems Technology Program Level 1 Certificate would prepare graduates to perform duties of a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Field Imaging Technician (skills developed upon completion of this level 1 certificate). Students would be able to use a variety of innovative spatial data imaging and collection technologies; acquire and correlate data from geographical positioning system (GPS) surveying and other sources; populate content into a database for storage of the data; and share the data results via web GIS portals. The program combines classroom and laboratory experience with cooperative experience.
