SRGT 1509 - Fundamentals of Perioperative Concepts and Techniques (5 Credit Hours)

In-depth coverage of perioperative concepts such as aseptic principles and practices, infectious processes, wound healing, and creation and maintenance of the sterile field.

Prerequisites: Recommended: Acceptance to the Surgical Technologist program and a minimum “C” grade or better in ENGL 1301, SPCH 1311, SCIT 1407, HPRS 1204 and HPRS 2231. Concurrent enrollment in, or a minimum “C” grade or better in SCIT 1408 and HPRS 2300. Concurrent enrollment in SRGT 1505 and 1166.
